Waxwings at Warwick

Wednesday 20th February 2013
Waxwing, Warwick
Waxwings
Managed to catch up with the Warwick 10, Waxwings that is. Had to wait some time before they appeared, to feed at the aptly named Rowan Drive. The site was at a busy road junction so the birds were being constantly flushed by lorries and passers by.
On the way back along the A45, Coventry bypass there was a flock of several hundred finches seen from the car. Unfortunately there was no safe viewing point that I could see as the stubble fields backed on to the industrial estate to the north of Bagington Airfield.
