Off road Birding
Monday 7th January 2013
Not really off road in a Jeremy Clarkson sense although my car looks like its been in a rally. No its me whats been 'off-road' tramping the muddy fields again. This time around the Alvecote, Warton, Polesworth area.Best area was undoutedly fields near Alvecote pools with large numbers of Reed Buntings,12 or so Tree Sparrows and several Yellowhammers.Other birds in the area included 2 Jack Snipe,Common Snipe,Shelduck and Little Egret. Having said that a good many stubble fields I stumbled across were depressingly birdless apart from Corvids and Woodpigeons.
