After finding 'the bushes' at the patch a virtual bird free zone I decided to go for the full tour, that is, the circular walk around Caldecote Hall. When I got a call from Steve H saying there was a Common Scoter at Shustoke I aborted the walk and headed for Shustoke where the sleeping Scoter was soon located. Not the most exciting bird but a dam sight more interesting than anything I'd come up with. I continued on to Alvecote pools where I was surprised to find 4 Black tailed Godwits still on Mill pool there were also 5 Little Egrets dotted around the same pool.
