'Reported', what does that mean when a bird comes up on the pager? It means that there is some doubt as to the likelihood of a genuine sighting or it means the info has come from an unknown source. When the report is a fly by or a flushed bird then the credibility is further reduced. Sometimes it worth the risk to respond to such a message for 'insurance'. How would you feel if you'd not gone on iffy info and missed out. Anyway I didnt go dashing off on this occasion and it was the right decision. Did have a potter round Brandon Marsh where, I think the last Warwickshire Citrine Wagtail was identified in May 1997. A Curlew was circling over the car Park as I got there before heading towards Newlands. Got a new bird for the year in the form of a House Martin (135) over East Marsh.
Other birds around the reserve included: Kingfisher, Sparrowhawk, Redshank, Ringed Plover, Shelduck, Cetti's warbler, Blackcap, Willow warbler, and Chiffchaff.
Nice shots Bob.They've been too lively for me so far this year to get a decent shot.
ReplyDeleteCheers Max. Haven't forgotten I owe you a coffee
